Katarina was born and raised in Guatemala City, Guatemala. She studied liberal arts with a concentration in economic and social history at Universidad Francisco Marroquin (UFM). During her time at UFM, Katarina wrote, from time-to-time, for the university’s online paper. She also developed an online museum for UFM’s Center for the Study of Capitalism, where she wrote several short biographies of the world’s greatest entrepreneurs. Katarina now works at Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation as a Research Associate. Her day-to-day work includes editing for the foundation’s blog, as well as writing blog posts and op-eds. She also publishes pieces focused on economic theory on her personal blog.
