Al Downs is a Colorado native with several years of experience in politics and policy at the state and federal level. A former Congressional staffer, he spent four years as an economic advisor to members of both the United States House and Senate, specializing in tax, budget, labor, and regulatory policy. Downs has served as senior economic analyst for national advocacy organizations Generation Opportunity and Americans for Prosperity and as fellow in economic and fiscal policy for the Colorado-based Liberty Day Institute’s Millennial Policy Center. Downs holds an bachelor’s degree in economics and mathematics from the University of Colorado, master’s degree in economic policy from Georgetown University, and has completed graduate studies in regulatory economics at Stanford University.
